Award winning artist Donegal Sharon McDaid works primarily in oil on canvas and is regarded as a renowned talent in Irish Contemporary Painting. Her Paintings are inspired by living and working on the coastal and wild North Donegal Peninsula of Inishowen surrounded by the ever-dramatic Atlantic Ocean.

These distinctive works perfectly capture the immediacy and diversity of the everchanging light and shade of the Irish Landscape. Suggestive mark making and a unique ability to exploit the medium enable Sharon to produce these exciting works that leave something to the viewers imagination. Over the past 20 years Sharon has exhibited widely at home and abroad and her works have become part of many public and private collections. The premises that house Silver Birch Gallery & Studio is located 0.5km outside Carndonagh on route to Ireland’s most Northerly Point, Malin Head. Ideally placed on the increasing popular WAW route. The building houses a three roomed gallery, a print workshop , a painting studio and a fully operational framing studio. There is an onsite car park, visitor toilets and is wheelchair accessible.
