Live in the Marquee is one of Carndonagh’s flagship summer festivals, bringing three days of music, family fun, and community spirit to the heart of the town.

First launched in 2018 to coincide with The Irish Open at Ballyliffin Golf Club and has since become a much-loved annual event organised by Carndonagh Traders Association CLG.

Each July, a large marquee is erected in The Diamond, creating a vibrant focal point for the town. During the day, the festival is packed with activities for children and families, while evenings come alive with live music, featuring three top-class bands each night providing outstanding entertainment for adults.

Live in the Marquee is a major draw for both locals and holidaymakers visiting the area, offering a lively programme of events for all ages.

Children’s entertainment and daytime activities

Outdoor Bingo

Tug of War competitions between local bars

The ever-popular Soapbox Derby, where homemade karts race the streets for glory

The Malin Street Ball Drop, with 1,500 numbered balls released from the top of Malin Street and fantastic prizes for the first to reach the bottom

Performances from local dance schools, showcasing everything from traditional Irish dancing to hip hop
